Reform UK: Banning the Flag of Kent from Kent County Council Buildings

The Chairman of Reform UK, Zia Yusuf, has said that Reform Councils will move “at speed” to resolve that only the St George's Flag and Union Flag can be flown from Council buildings.
That would include banning the flying of the Flag of Kent from Kent council buildings. The Flag of Kent dates back to 1605, predated the Union Flag by almost 200 years.
Mike Sole, Liberal Democrat County Councillor for Canterbury South, commented:
"So the priority for Reform in Kent, according to their chairman, is to stop flying any flags except the Union flag and St George’s flag.
"Other flags that have flown during the year include the Pride flag, the Ukrainian flag, the Armed Forces Flag and the Kent flag.
“With everything else that needs fixing in Kent this is hardly a priority. However this is also a clear message being sent to LGBTQ community, Putin, our armed forces and all Kent residents.”
