Message Alert from Kent Trading Standards - Energy Suppliers

9.26.12am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 14th Jul 2008

Kent Trading Standards are warning of a incident involving door salesmen.

The consumer was called on with the intention of getting them to change their energy supplier and was told that the prices would be capped until 2010 which the consumer later found out is not the case. They also told the consumer that the energy is from the UK and that they did not have to pay additional surcharges like other companies do. Neither claim was true.

Kent Trading Standards are warning people to be cautious if you have a caller at your door asking you to change your energy supplier. Kent Trading Standards would suggest that if you are thinking of changing your supplier that you make your own enquiries and make your decision based on your findings. Do not be rushed into any decision.

If in any doubt contact Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 for further advice.
