Tories beaten into third in Dover

In yesterday's district by-election in the Maxton, Elms Vale and Priory Ward in Dover, Lib Dem Candidate John Mackie beat the Tories into third place winning 25.32% of the vote.

John said "I want to thank all those who came to Dover to help in this by-election. Special thanks to Thanet South, also Ian Chittenden's team from Maidstone and the eve of poll team from Shepway."

Labour 365

Conservative 252

UKIP 65

Independent 70

Independent 56
